Mag), i think they meant for the little slide part in the beginning...of course, open D is (D,A,D,F#,A,D) so it might work in both open & dropped tunings cause the first 3 strings are the same. i'm pretty sure brad's part is all dropped...watch the video, and if he has more than one guitar lined up, it is...i think joe's in dropped D, cause he used the same guitar for the whole set & probably did't have time to retune all his strings marisa
